Oakland Care Center has been recognized as a leader in palliative care by the State of NJ Department of Health and Senior Services, Division of Senior Affairs, Ombudsman for the Institutionalized Elderly. In 2001, the Comfort Corner Hospice Unit was opened, the first unit of its kind in New Jersey.
 
The Comfort Corner Hospice Unit offers expert care in the arena of palliative care for adults, 21 years and older. This unique unit provides an alternative to traditional nursing home placement when your loved one no longer requires hospitalization, yet their care is too complex to be managed at home. Spacious rooms with sleeping accommodations for overnight stays so families may remain at the bedside are available as is a family style dining room and lounge where quality time can be spent together.

Hospice services include medical and pain management, psychological, and spiritual support, for both the resident and family.   This is a unit where life is celebrated. It is our desire to offer comfort and joy, in the time remaining for you and your loved one.
